We, at Samtel, believe in the power of enhanced expertise as we extend our business and knowledge capabilities by partnering with some of the best-known names in the industry. Long before globalization became a corporate buzzword, we were collaborating with some of the leaders in the industry be it setting up our first assembly line for manufacturing color picture tubes in technical collaboration with Mitsubishi Electric, Japan; or partnering with Corning, USA and Samsung Corning, Korea to set-up our glass component manufacturing plant; or joining hands with IIT-Kanpur and Department of Science and Technology for OLED research.

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited
HAL is a major player in the global aviation arena and is currently ranked 34th among the world's top 100 defence companies. The Company has proven capabilities in R&D, manufacturing and maintenance of fighters, trainers, transport aircraft, helicopters, their engines and associated systems. As our JV partners in Samtel HAL Display Systems Limited, HAL will help us in developing indigenous next-generation avionic display systems for HAL's star programmes.


Thales is a leading international electronics and systems group, addressing defence, aerospace and security markets worldwide. The group builds its growth on its unique multi-domestic strategy based on trusted partnerships with national customers and market players, while leveraging its global expertise to support local technology and industrial development. Thales and Samtel have a joint venture in Samtel Thales Avionics Limited, which will work towards the local development, production, sale and maintenance of Helmets Mounted Sight & Display (HMSD),  Infra Red Search and Track (IRST) and other modern Avionics Systems destined for the Indian market.
IIT-Kanpur, and

Samtel, in Partnership with IIT Kanpur and Department of Science and Technology, set up a "Samtel Centre for Display Technologies", located at the Indian Institute for Technology at Kanpur. The Centre  carried on extensive research in the area of emerging technologies like Organic Light Emitting Diodes (OLED).
DRDO (Defence Research and Development Organization, Govt of India) Samtel Display Systems has signed an MoU with Defence Avionics Research Establishment (DARE) to indigenize cockpit displays under the aegis of DRDO Lab's DARE (Defence Avionics Research Establishment) program.
  1st to introduce Digital Color Monitor in India.
  1st to launch 12", 14" and 17" B&W picture tubes in India.
  1st to launch 14" and 21" FST tubes in India.
  1st to launch Mono Display Tubes in India.
  1st to assemble and seal glass shells in India.
  1st to offer the largest range of 14",  21" FST and 21" F&FST color picture tubes in India.
  1st to establish itself as the largest regular exporter of tubes.
  1st to manufacture specialty tubes for industrial, military and medical applications, from the private sector.
  1st public-private partnership in the area of defense avionics.
